Without DNS server you cannot connect to the update servers.
How do you get the WebGUI pages, if the admin password doesn’t work?
BTW: the admin password can be set from a shell ( user root, root password ) via setup.
WebGUI accessed via ipfire.444 utilizes admin/password in keychain, it is same as before the new install. The Question is how to repair the error that keeps the DNS from connecting?
After entering setup/root - what is the command to change the admin password?
Wifi is set up normal, using the Backup. The DNS is buggy. Prior attachment shows it is Green. It doesnt connect to the VPN server ion Greece. Just using DNS LightningWireLabs for a Test.
Learning to handle stress is difficult. Sorry to discover a childish principal. Closely consier the Blue Screen: is that commerical quality?.

Strange it doesnt work with the Backup. The backup was working. And the password on the setup page isnt working. Thought the group would like to solve the problem.
Could you please describe your configuration ( networks, IPFire, system your backup was produced, … ) in more details. Maybe we can help or point you to the errors.
BTW: What you presented in your screenshot isn’t a ‘Blue Screen’ ( usually the Windows OS crash message ) but the install menue.
The double letter problem is known. It appears in the first screen of an installation on an APU. Just search the forum or Bugzilla for explanation.
I was wondering what is the pcengines-apu-firmware actually used for and what are the differences between 4.16 and 4.17.
