Hi,
I am using the IPFire FRR addon with BGP.
The FRR daemons start correctly after boot, but the integrated configuration from:
/etc/frr/frr.conf is not applied automatically.
The daemon config files contain entries such as:
bgpd=yes
vtysh_enable=yes
but the init script does not run: vtysh -b
For that reason: After every reboot, the FRR processes are running, but the BGP configuration is not active and the learned routes are missing. So you have to ssh to the box and execute vtysh -b that the expected BGP routes appear.
My solution was to add to the daemon start loop:
sleep 2
/usr/bin/vtysh -b
Would it make sense to add an automatic vtysh -b to the official IPFire FRR init script when using integrated frr.conf configuration?
It would avoid having to manually reload the FRR configuration after every reboot.
Best regards
