/dev/sda4 is slowly filling up, how to extend

Hi

running core 198 on a VM installation

I got a message now that disk is full up to 92%

I deleted old backups, now down to 81%

but to avoid this from happeingn soon, again, can I somehow extend the sda4 partition, WITHOUT reinstalling?

Increase it in your VM hypervisor first. If you then boot it off a live CD of GParted, you should be able to juggle the partitions. It can also be done at the command line but that is harder work.
