Hi,

yes, @ms reverted the pppd update, see this and this commit.

Users who already have Core Update 157 installed will stay with pppd 2.4.9, though. Since Core Update 158 is already available for testing, it will probably take until Core Update 159 until we finally ship a corrected version of pppd 2.4.9 again.
