Core 160 Testing: OpenVPN n2n

After upgrading from the previous stable version to IPFire 2.27 (x86_64) - core160 Development Build: master/8c855a58 we’re observing distortions with OpenVPN n2n connections:

a) effective bandwidth/throughput ist sometimes/overnight lowered from ~160 to ~10 MBit/s
b) OpenVPN log on the IPFire that mainly receives data (not the sending IPFire) shows “AEAD Decrypt error: bad packet ID (may be a replay)” with high frequency
c) CPU load on the mainly receiving side is increased, but not saturated

reboot of both IPFire systems helps to increase throughput again, but the errors persist.

This post is 6 days old right now. Finally, my question to the community is: What have I done wrong?
We participate in the alpha test and report an abnormality in a very timely manner and this is just noted?

As the IPFire core development team is quite small they don’t have the time to read through the forum postings on such a regular basis.

It would be good if you could enter your input as a bug with the same title. The developers do spend time looking at the bugs and new ones that are entered are screened.

Your IPFire People e-mail address and password will allow you to login to the IPFire bugzilla and raise the bug. The wiki gives more guidance on how to raise the bug.
