Can Blue Network be used like another network?

I am new to ipfire and was wondering if the Blue network can be used like a
second Lan network if I install a normal network card (non wireless) or does
it have to be a wireless card?

I would like to use ipfire but do not want to use
wireless cards. I assume I can connect any network card to a wireless
access point if I needed wireless.

I am coming from pfSense and trying to see if ipfire will work like
pfSense does?

Yes . Alot of us use a second nic as a blue zone.
With or with out a AP.
I prefer it let the AP handle wifi password .
Not sure of linux support of wifi cards. You can get an AP with WPA 3.

How to setup blue for mesh access points

Hi there, You could assign the Blue zone also to a LAN interface (see wiki.ipfire.org - Zone Configuration) (wiki.ipfire.org - Configuring three zones, using two NICs and one VLAN). Than assign a VLAN on the switch ports you are using for the AP’s and to the Blue interface. I did this myself. Green - a lan interface Blue - a WLAN interface and VLAN to Green On the switch - Green interface port default lan and a VLAN for Blue Switch ports for the Access Point VLAN for BLUE
