Broken QoS, I have broken QoS

I believe I’ve managed to brake my QoS by using AI to try and help with something.

Yes I’m a numpty . :grimacing:

I was trying to reset/default the QoS and I tried to do this by deleting the contents of /var/ipfire/qos in the hope that the contents would be re-created at service start and populated with default files.

Of course this didn’t work and stopped the WUI from loading the QoS page. I then copied the default contence from a fresh VM install of IPFire back and rebooted. I think this brought back the WUI QoS page but you’d click things and the page did not respond.

I’ve now reinstalled and restored a backup but it seems my backup is affected as I get the same. QoS page works but when you click start, preset, save or reset either nothing happens or the page hangs missing all the buttons to do with QoS and just the heading “QoS” is shown.

So could anyone point me in the right direction of getting QoS to work please?

I can run any commands via ssh that one might need to do in order to help diagnose.

Thanks in advance for any pointers

It seems as if the changes you made were included in your backup. A fresh install and reconfig might be the best way to go. It seems like a daunting task, but it shouldn’t take too long if you take screenshots of all the relevant screens in the UI. I believe you could also edit your backup and remove portions so they will not restore over a fresh install, but I couldn’t tell you which sections to remove. You could edit the backup file with something like 7-zip. Just be super careful. Make a copy of the backup and work with that. Someone else may be able to tell you more detail (or you may be able to figure it out just by browsing the backup file).
