So all good now… any other issues?

@rjschilt,

All good, no other issues.

Clarification on the need to disable MAC filtering in order to make this config work would be helpful as there was no mention of the need to do so. Unless it was overlooked in the documentation.

Thanks again!

@nfguide ,

Well done and great persistence!

On the Wireless Configuration panel I normally:

  1. add all the devices shown under “Current DHCP leases on BLUE” to “Devices on BLUE”

  2. and then deactivate the NONE line by unticking the box (under Action).

This way I have an extra layer of control as to what devices connect to my BLUE network.

By default on the Blue Interface you have to specify the MAC addresses for all clients that you want to give access to and that is done on the Blue Access WUI menu page.

If you don’t want to specify the MAC addresses for all Blue clients then you have to disable that function on the Blue Access WUI page.

In the Installation page related to Networking there is a section labelled Zones

https://www.ipfire.org/docs/installation/step5#zones

At the end of that it mentions that if you have a Blue Network you need to configure the MAC Filtering and provides a link to the Blue Access page.

At the top of the Blue Access page it explains a bit more about the default use of MAC Filtering for the Blue Network.
